The girlfriends of these two have for some years been conducting a hard-core lesbian affair, and the two chaps have just witnessed them embracing. Sam is oblivious to the true nature of their love and, sweetly, says to Artie how he wishes that Artie and he could do some of the things together that their two girlfriends have done.
Artie is, of course, sharp as a knife, and looks wonderingly at Sam. That fantasy scenario kept me occupied for several hours afterwards...
